Apple Peanut Butter Toast

Ingredients

1 apple sliced

4 slices of bread (sprouted whole grain, whole wheat, or sourdough are great options)

1/2 tbsp butter

1 tbsp lemon juice

1/2tsp cinnamon

Natural peanut butter to your liking (I use Smucker’s Natural Crunchy Peanut Butter)

Procedure

  1. Cut the apple into quarters and slice each quarter into four even wedges.

  2. Melt the butter over medium heat in a non-stick frying pan.

  3. Add the apples to the pan, stirring and cooking for about 5 minutes until the apples begin to soften. Integrate the cinnamon and lemon juice, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  4. Transfer the apples to a plate and let them cool.

  5. Spread 1-2 tbsp of peanut butter over toast, top with apple slices, and delight!

  6. If you have leftover apple slices, keep them in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
